Industrial applications

Our electronic audible and ultrasonic bird and rodent deterrents and our visual wind powered deterrents have many industrial applications including protecting airport runways against bird strikes with the Wailer and the mobile Runwayler, and also protecting aircraft hangars with the Birdbuzzer.
They are also widely used in factories and warehousing and distribution depots for protecting roofs against pigeons and seagulls with the Wailer and the roof mounted wind powered Flashing Hawkeye, or around loading bays with the Birdbuzzer or Midi Wailer.
These are also used around public buildings (for example Smithfield and Spitalfields Markets in London) and the Birdbuzzer is ideal for deterring birds from churches with speakers up on the roof yet with the control unit at ground level.

Telecommunications & utilities

Our electronic deterrents have been widely used by electricity and telecommunications companies for protecting their power pylons and transmission towers. Also by police forces and ambulance centres on their communications equipment.

Many water companies use both the electronic deterrents and the Flashing Hawkeye at their locations.

Agriculture & crop protection

In the agricultural sector the Wailers and the Flashing Hawkeye are particularly effective against pigeons and rooks on oil seed rape and other arable crops, with the Midi Wailer being a useful deterrent around cattle yards and silage areas.

Both varieties of deterrent have also been used with success around the world for protecting grapes in vineyards.

The Ratsonic is an effective deterrent against rats and mice in grain stores and feed mills.

Game protection & fish farming

Experience has shown that for deterring predators such as buzzards and cormorants it is best to use visual means.

Both the wind powered Flashing Hawkeye and the Scarecrows have successfully protected free range poultry, pheasant release pens and fish farms whilst also being useful for protecting cover crops for game.

Domestic

Public concern about avian borne diseases is creating increasing interest in deterring birds from around domestic houses and gardens. This involves not only protecting vegetable gardens but also deterring birds from lodging on buildings and balconies, and fouling cars.

For many of these problems the solution can be found with the Birdbuzzer which is operated silently with ultrasonic output most of the time but which can be changed to audible at the flick of a switch on the control unit in the house. In the same manner it is proving effective for deterring birds from fouling the decks of boats.
